What is included in a Desktop licence?
When you purchase a desktop licence, this includes installation for 1 (one) – 3 (three) users, in a single location, within a single company. This licence is for print work, logo creation, use on a computer and in DTP software. We also include PDF embedding within this licence, but this does NOT cover embedded self-hosting web or app use. You MUST ensure further licenses are purchased if you are to utilise these fonts via @font-face. Desktop licences are available for more users than 3 (three) users, and with multiple locations. Please email if you have questions or concerns.
What is included in a self-hosting web fonts licence?
Our self-hosting web licences are purchased on a per (1, one) website basis. The costing is based on tiered system that increases as the number of page views goes up per month. This is a one-off cost, with no subscription fees or renewals. We deliver web fonts in four formats to support a wide range of browsers, including — .TTF, .EOT, .WOFF & .WOFF2. We ask that the font(s) are securely protected via .htaccess (when running Apache), or alternatively through web-config in IIS. Attached within the web font folder is a PDF providing instructions of how this can be implemented.

What is included in a app licence?
Whether you are developing an app for iOS or Android, or both, you are required to have an app licence for use of typefaces within the app. This is governed under a separate licence to that of desktop or self-hosting web licences. Our current app licence is calculated as a one-off fee, on a tiered-based system.
At the bottom of each type family page, please select the App option in the purchase bar. You must input the retail cost of the app, and the estimated number of downloads to calculate the correct price.

What is included in a trial licence?
When you request and download trials from the Account page, you automatically fall under our trial license. This license allows for the testing of our font software in varying mediums, but must be upgraded when the work is outside of a testing remit — therefore meaning when the software is not being evaluated further but used and applied to a project.

Is Apple News included in my app or self-hosting web font license?
Apple News is viewed as another license for web fonts, and should be purchased as so. E.g. if you have a web font license for 1m page views / month, you then need a second license for usage upon Apple News. Please present an estimate of page views received per month from Apple News.
How long do licenses last?
All licenses are perpetual. Please ensure you communicate the limitations of your license to any internal or external stakeholders as required. If you do not and go over the tier this is considered a breach of our EULA. You must upgrade.
Can I transfer a desktop licence to a web font licence (or similar)?
No, we do not allow licences to be transferred between different platforms.
Do freelancers, printers or other suppliers require licences?
We do allow delivery of the font within Indesign packages to printers / suppliers only for production reasons, they must not attempt to edit or modify the artwork using the typeface. Nor must they extract the font for use on other projects. This instance would require another licence to be purchased.
External freelancers working on a particular project with our typefaces, outside of the location require a further licence also.
Can I utilise your fonts in an e-book?
Yes, you can. This is governed by a separate licence. We calculate the one-off cost of this licence on the estimated number download of the e-book. Please contact us for more information.
Is the self-hosting web licence a one-off fee or recurring cost?
This is a one-off fee, per website, for one domain. There are not re-curring costs. The licence is not transferable between different websites.
If I purchase self-hosting web fonts, can I utilise them on my local computer?
No, the licences are separate between desktop and web fonts. You must purchase both licences, in the instance that you will used them both on your desktop, and also as web fonts. Please ensure the select the correct number of users for desktop, and number of page views for web font licence.
What do I do if the page views have risen above the tier I have purchased for a self-hosting web font license?
If the number page of views has risen above the tier that you purchased by 10% of the overall measurement, then you must upgrade to the tier above to cover the increase. We will deduct the license already purchased, and supply you with a new upgraded license. To do this, please contact us directly.
How do I prove I have a license?
It is important that you retain all receipts, and keep a copy for yourself and your client to hand. We do check if licenses have been purchased regularly. Alternatively, ensure the domain is document in the web font purchase, and the client or end-users licensee details are correct.
