Alongside leading the type workshop and a lecture, we were commissioned by the 23rd International Festival of Graphic Design in Chaumont, to be part of La Fabrique.
Coinciding with the commission we created La Fabrique, a heavy sans-serif typeface. The process of production of drawing the typeface was separated in four distinct stages and the restricted decisions made into a visible path. This was documented via two mediums, a set of four A0 serigraph posters, and a small 12-page specimen. This restrictive iterative process, was used to visually document a normally ephemeral and invisible process. The result was shown at La Fabrique, Chaumont, France in 2012.
We re-visited the single-weight of La Fabrique in 2017, and extended the family into five weights with corresponding Italics. It now also contains further language support for Extended Latin, Greek and Cyrillic, alongside further OpenType features and discretional ligatures.
